We developed a work method that allows us to routinely blast clean within five (5) feet of the outage by mounting the diaphragms on adjustable diaphragms blasting stands. Each diaphragm is lifted from the lower shell, lower onto the stand, and safely secure into position. These stands mount the diaphragm vertical - and diaphragm,  from 3 to 10 feet in diameter - so it can be blast-cleaned an both sides, visually inspected, and even NDE verified- all in one setting. No need to turn the components over and over for each step. Amazingly, from teardown to removal, to blasting, to NDE inspection, and finally reassembly, each diaphragm is handled only twice, thus saving time.

R. Houston & Son's sandblasting tent is designed to capture and reprocess airborne blast material during the blasting process. The tent is ideal for critical blasting applications inside plants, utility stations or near environmentally-sensitive areas. The two vertical filters, to the far left, collect and hold spent blasting material much like a common household vacuum cleaner bag. Utilizing the tent, it's endless where R. Houston & Son can serve you.
